Uploading Assets
Upload files individually or in large batches, with metadata, product links, and smart suggestions built into the workflow.
You can upload files to the Asset Library individually or in large batches. The upload workflow lets you add metadata to your files before they're saved, so your library stays organised from the start.
Starting an upload
Go to Assets and click the Upload button. Drag and drop files onto the upload area, or click to browse your computer.
The upload queue
Each file appears as a row in the upload queue. Before confirming the upload, you can fill in:
- Title — the display name for the asset
- Description — optional context, useful for search later
- Tags — keywords for filtering and discovery
- Categories — for grouping by usage type
- Product links — to connect the asset to relevant products in your catalogue
Files won't upload until you confirm. If any required fields are missing, they'll be flagged before you can proceed.
Upload profiles
Profiles set the level of detail required before an asset can be uploaded:
- Fast Upload — title only. Good for quick uploads where you'll add more detail later.
- Standard DAM — requires title, tags, product link, and usage group. Recommended for day-to-day uploads.
- Compliance — also requires a description. Use this for regulated or documentation assets.
Your admin sets which profiles are available and which is the default.
Smart suggestions
Stackcess can suggest product links and usage groups based on the file name and tags you've entered. Look for suggestion labels on each row — you can accept or ignore them. This saves time when uploading large batches of product-specific files.
Editing multiple files at once
Select several rows in the upload queue to use the bulk editor. You can apply the same tags, categories, product links, or scope settings across all selected files in one step. If you make a mistake, use the undo option to revert your last bulk change.
After uploading
Completed files appear immediately in your Asset Library. You can continue editing their metadata, organising them into folders, or adding them to sets from there.
